Hayati not working? What actually fixes it, from someone who uses one

UK Vaping Guide

When a Hayati is not working, it is nearly always one of two things: the battery wants charging, or the pod is not pushed home properly. I have used the Hayati Pro Max Plus 6000 and the Pro Ultra Plus 25000 for long enough to have met most of their moods, and those two checks sort out the majority of them in under a minute. This guide covers what I have actually seen go wrong (a flashing 6000, a 25K where one side stops firing, flavour that fades, a battery that gives up early), what fixed it, and the point where the honest answer is a new pod or a new device rather than more fiddling.

Hayati not working? The two checks to do first

Two Hayati Pro Ultra Plus 25000 devices showing the battery display with the L and R flavour side indicators
Hayati Pro Ultra Plus 25000. The screen shows battery charge and which side (L or R) is live, the first things to check when it is not working.

Charge it, then refit the pod. In that order.

A flat or nearly flat battery makes a Hayati behave strangely long before it stops altogether, and a pod that is sitting a fraction proud of its seat gives you the same symptoms as a dead coil: no vapour, a side that will not fire, a device that flashes at you like a car with a fault light. Both checks cost nothing, and between them they fix most of what people describe as a broken Hayati. Only once both are done is it worth looking at the specific problems further down.

One thing I would not do is start pulling a 25K apart on the kitchen table. Once the pod block is on that device it is genuinely hard to get off again, so push it home firmly rather than yanking it about.

Why is my Hayati Pro Max Plus flashing?

Hayati Pro Max Plus 6000 LED display close-up showing the battery reading and charging symbol
The Hayati Pro Max Plus 6000 LED display. If it keeps flashing, charge it first, then refit the pod.

My 6000 flashes now and then. It is not constant and it is not every pod, which is exactly what makes it annoying: the device looks fine one day and blinks at you the next.

Two fixes have worked for me every time. The first is simply charge. Put it on a USB-C lead for a while and, more often than not, it comes back behaving normally. The second is for when it carries on flashing even with charge in it: take the pod out and push it back in. That has always settled it. My guess (and it is only a guess, because Hayati does not publish what the flashing means) is that the pod contacts lose their connection slightly, and reseating the pod restores it.

If you have charged it properly and reseated the pod and it still flashes, try a second pod if you have one. A device that flashes with two different pods has a problem the pod cannot fix. A device that is fine with the second pod had a bad pod.

One side of my Hayati 25K not working

Hayati Pro Ultra Plus 25000 pod block with red and blue refill containers and the side 2 marking on the pod
The Hayati Pro Ultra Plus pod is marked by side, so it only fits one way. A pod not fitted securely is the usual reason one side stops working.

This one catches people out on the Hayati Pro Ultra Plus 25000, and it has happened to me. One flavour fires perfectly; turn to the other and you get very little or nothing at all.

Every time it has happened to me, the cause was the same: the pod was not securely fitted. Push it fully home and the lazy side wakes up. It sounds too simple to be the answer, but a twin-chamber pod has two sets of connections, and a pod sitting slightly crooked can make contact on one side and not the other.

Fitting it correctly matters more than on a single-pod kit. The pod and the device are marked 1 and 2, and the pod only goes on one way: side 1 over the 1, side 2 over the 2. Line those up and push down firmly. Once it is on, you switch between the two flavours by turning the mouthpiece 180 degrees, which is the move Hayati’s own instructions show. Turn it fully so it seats over the other chamber; a mouthpiece left halfway between the two positions is the other classic reason a side seems dead.

Worth knowing before you panic: a side that has simply run dry also stops giving you much. You choose which side you vape, so if you have favoured one flavour, that chamber empties first. Our Hayati Pro Ultra Plus pods page explains how each side drains.

Why has my Hayati lost its flavour?

Hayati Pro Max Plus Juicy Peach pods box, two replacement pods and a Pro Max Plus 6000 device
Hayati Pro Max Plus Juicy Peach pods, my favourite. When the flavour fades, a new pod is the fix.

Because the pod is past its best, and on a big-puff kit that happens well before the liquid runs out.

A Pro Ultra Plus 25000 pod would last me more than a month. I change mine every two weeks anyway. By around 8,000 puffs, by my reckoning, the flavour has mostly gone, and after that it feels like vaping nicotine with the taste switched off. That is not a Hayati quirk: I have found the same with every big-puff device I have used. A rated 25,000 puffs tells you how long the liquid lasts, not how long it tastes good.

The Pro Max Plus 6000 is simpler. One pod lasts me about five days, and I get the flavour most of the way through it. If yours tastes flat on day two, check the battery first; a low charge dulls the flavour before it stops the device.

A new pod is the fix, and it is also a chance to rotate flavours. Mine is Juicy Peach. If you want ideas, our Hayati Pro Max flavours guide ranks the lot.

Hayati battery draining fast: when the device is done

Hayati Pro Max Plus 6000 device on charge over USB-C with an 850mAh battery graphic
The Hayati Pro Max Plus runs on an 850mAh battery. When it starts draining noticeably faster, the device has done its job.

The pods get replaced every few days. The device underneath does not last forever either, and the battery is what goes.

On my Pro Max Plus 6000, the device gives me around two months. After that the battery drains noticeably faster, and at that point I stop trying to nurse it along and replace the device. It is the cheap part of the kit to renew, and your pods carry straight over.

Hayati says much the same thing on its UK site. The Pro Max Plus uses an 850mAh rechargeable battery, and the manufacturer’s own guidance lists weaker flavour, less vapour, a softer draw and battery performance becoming less consistent as the signs that the device, not the pod, has reached the end of its best. Hayati puts that point, for some users, after more than three replacement pods. My two months is longer than that; how hard you vape decides where you land.

On the 25K, the battery is also 850mAh according to Hayati’s own product page. One answer on Hayati’s UK site says 1250mAh, which contradicts the specification listed alongside it, so treat that figure as a typo.

One line that is not about value: if any vape battery gets hot in your hand, swells, or smells of burning, stop using it, do not charge it, and take it to a battery recycling point.

Hayati not charging

Both the Pro Max Plus and the Pro Ultra Plus charge over USB-C, and Hayati’s kit FAQ says the indicator shows that charging is in progress once it is plugged in. So the test is simple: plug it in and look for that indicator.

No indicator? Change one thing at a time. A different USB-C cable first, because cables fail far more often than devices. Then a different plug or USB port. Then check the port on the device for pocket fluff, which packs down surprisingly hard; a light and a wooden toothpick deal with it without damaging anything.

If a known-good cable and a known-good plug still produce no sign of charging, that is a device fault, not something to keep experimenting with.

Hayati leaking

Three steps to fit a Hayati Pro Ultra Plus 25000 pod: clip the containers on, push the block down, pod fully seated
Fitting a Hayati Pro Ultra Plus pod. Pushed fully home, as in step 3, is the first thing to check if liquid appears.

The Hayati in my history that leaked was the Twist. It leaked regularly, and it is no longer something you can buy new in the UK: the Twist was a single-use disposable, and those were banned from 1 June 2025.

On the current pod kits, a pod that is not seated properly is the first thing to check, for the same reason it causes a dead side on the 25K. Wipe the device and the pod dry, push the pod fully home, and see whether the liquid comes back.

If liquid keeps appearing outside the pod, stop using that pod. Liquid where it should not be is not worth persevering with, and if you bought it from us it is a replacement, not a problem for you to solve.

What does E2 mean on a Hayati?

Honestly, the manufacturer has never said. I could not find a definition of E2, or of any flash pattern, anywhere Hayati publishes: not on the UK site, not on the manufacturer’s global site.

That has not stopped other guides from giving you one. Search around and you will find E2 described as the device being unable to read the pod, as a short circuit, and as a coil fault, alongside neat tables of blink counts that nobody sources. They cannot all be right, and a table that looks authoritative is not the same as one that is.

I have not had E2 on either of my devices, so I am not going to invent a meaning for it. What I can tell you is what costs nothing to try, because it covers every one of those guesses: charge the device, then take the pod out and refit it firmly. If E2 is still there with a charged battery and a properly seated pod, contact whoever sold it to you rather than working through a list of theories.

Could it be the wrong pod?

Possibly, if your pods came from somewhere different to your device. I have never put a pod in the wrong kit myself, so the compatibility below comes from Hayati’s UK site rather than experiments of mine.

Hayati’s Pro Max Plus pods are designed to work across the Pro Max Plus devices, whatever the nicotine strength, and the manufacturer says Pro Max Plus 4000 pods fit the 6000 device and the other way round. When I last looked for 4000 pods, I could not get hold of them yet. Pro Ultra Plus 25000 pods are their own design and belong on the 25K.

What this means: A 6K pod on a 25K, or a 25K pod on a 6K, is not a fault you can fix. Buy the pod that matches the device.

Pod, device or neither: what replacing things costs

Most “broken” Hayatis need a new pod or a charge, and a few need a new device. Seeing the numbers helps stop anyone binning a whole kit over a problem a pod would have solved.

These use my own replacement habits and our prices today. Your days will differ; the shape will not.

Hayati Pro Club prices on 15 September 2026, VAT included. The 6000 device figure uses the kit price, which includes a pod. I have not given a 25K device lifespan because I have not tracked one.

What this means: The device is the smallest daily cost. When a worn battery is the problem, a new device is cheaper than living with it.

When it really is faulty

Three Hayati Pro Max Plus 6000 devices in blue-yellow, pink-green and purple
Hayati Pro Max Plus 6000 devices. A faulty one bought from us is replaced, with return postage on us.

You have charged it with a cable you trust, refitted the pod firmly, tried a second pod, and it still will not behave. That is a fault, and it is the seller’s job to put right.

If you bought it from us, email hayatiproclub@gmail.com with your order number and a line on what it is doing. Faulty items are replaced, and return postage is on us.

If you bought it somewhere else and it has been odd from day one, check it is genuine before blaming the device. Fakes are a common cause of strange behaviour, and our Hayati fake check walks through the code on the box and the tells. Everything we sell across the Hayati Pro Max range is genuine UK stock, and Hayati Pro Club is an independent retailer, not connected to the manufacturer.

Frequently asked questions

Why is my Hayati not working?

Most of the time the battery needs charging or the pod is not pushed fully home. Charge it, then take the pod out and refit it firmly. If it still will not work with a charged battery, a properly seated pod and a second pod, the device is faulty and the seller should replace it.

Why is my Hayati Pro Max Plus flashing?

Hayati does not publish what the flashing means. On my Pro Max Plus 6000 it happens occasionally, and charging it for a while usually stops it. If it keeps flashing with charge in it, taking the pod out and putting it back in has always fixed it for me.

Why is one side of my Hayati Pro Ultra Plus 25000 not working?

In my experience the pod is not fitted securely. Push it fully home, with side 1 over the 1 and side 2 over the 2, and turn the mouthpiece a full 180 degrees so it seats over the chamber you want. A side that has run dry will also go quiet, so check the liquid on that side.

How long does a Hayati device last before the battery goes?

My Pro Max Plus 6000 device lasts around two months before the battery starts draining noticeably faster, and then I replace it. Hayati’s UK guidance says some users notice the device weakening after more than three replacement pods. Heavier use shortens it.

Why does my Hayati 25K taste of nothing but nicotine?

The flavour has faded, which happens on every big-puff kit I have used. My Pro Ultra Plus 25000 pod keeps its flavour for roughly 8,000 puffs, so I change it every two weeks even though the liquid would last over a month.

What does E2 mean on a Hayati vape?

Hayati does not publish a definition that I could find, and guides online contradict each other. Charge the device and refit the pod firmly; if E2 stays, contact the seller rather than trying fixes based on guesswork.

Do Hayati Pro Max Plus 4000 pods fit the 6000?

According to Hayati’s UK site, yes, and 6000 pods fit the 4000 kit too. Pro Ultra Plus 25000 pods only go on the 25K. When I last checked, 4000 pods were not yet available to buy.

Is it worth fixing a Hayati or just replacing it?

Charging and refitting the pod cost nothing, so always try those. After that, a new pod fixes fading flavour and a new device fixes a worn battery. On my habits the 6000 device works out at about 13p a day, so there is little point living with one that has given up.
