Hayati Pro Max flavours: the full list, ranked (and the ones to skip)

Two inputs, neither of them a spreadsheet. The first is tasting: I have vaped every pod flavour in the Hayati Pro Max range on a Pro Max Plus 6000 kit, most of them more than once, a few of them (Blueberry B'Gum, I am looking at you) exactly once. The second is the support inbox. When someone emails to reorder, they name the flavour, and after enough of those emails a pattern is impossible to miss. Some flavours get reordered on a rhythm. Others get ordered, and that is the last we hear of them.

What this ranking is not: a sales chart. We are not publishing numbers, partly because a shop this size would be quoting a small sample as if it were a census, and partly because the point of a flavour guide is taste, not volume. So treat the order below as a strong opinion from someone who has tried the lot, cross-checked against what people actually come back for.

One more thing before the list. Every pod flavour here is 20mg (2%) nicotine salt in a 2ml TPD-compliant pod, with its 10ml refill container (two of them on the Pro Ultra Plus) in the same box. Nicotine is addictive, and none of this is for anyone under 18. If you do not currently vape, no flavour on this page is a reason to start.

This is the main event. The Hayati Pro Max Plus pods carry the Pro Max flavour list forward from the disposable era, and each refill is one prefilled 2ml pod plus a 10ml cartridge, 5 for £23.99 (£4.80 each). Every flavour is the same price, so the only question is which five.

A note on naming, once, so we never blur it again: the 6000-puff device is the Hayati Pro Max Plus (the box prints it as Pro Max+, the market calls it the 6K). The 25,000-puff twin-tank device is the Hayati Pro Ultra Plus 25000, which some invoices call the Pro Plus 25000 and most searchers call the Hayati 25k. Different pods, different flavour lists, and the two are not interchangeable.

Juicy Peach, at number eight, is also the one flavour a customer has reviewed for us by name. The verdict sits under the table, and it lands close to ours.

The Pro Ultra Plus works differently. Each refill for the Pro Ultra Plus 25000 pods is a single 2ml twin-chamber pod plus two 10ml containers, one flavour per side, and you twist the mouthpiece to switch. So the question is not "which flavour" but "which pair", and a good pair is two flavours that make each other better when you flip between them. Of the 43 variants, 27 are twin pairings and the rest put the same flavour on both sides. These are the eight pairings worth your £28.99 for 5 (£5.80 each).

Not everyone wants a prefilled pod kit. If you already own a refillable MTL pod device, the Hayati Pro Max nic salts give you the Pro Max flavour range as 10ml bottles of 50/50 e-liquid, in 10mg or 20mg, 10 for £17.99 (£1.80 each). There are 49 flavours and the list overlaps with the pods but is not identical, so a few of the best picks here have no pod equivalent at all.

Blue Razz Gummy Bear is the standout, and the one that most closely matches its pod (Blue Razz GB). Summer Dream, a mixed tropical fruit with a light cool, is the sleeper: it reads as generic on the label and tastes anything but. Cherry Cola holds up well in a refillable and, if anything, fizzes a little more than the pod. Fresh Menthol Mojito is a mint, lime and sugar affair that exists only as a salt, and Lemon Peach Passionfruit is the other salt-only flavour worth crossing the road for.

Then there is Tobacco. It is the single tobacco flavour anywhere in the Hayati line-up, it exists only as a nic salt, and it is a dry, slightly nutty blend rather than a sweet caramel one. If you want a tobacco from Hayati, this is your only option, so we mention it here rather than pretend it does not exist.

One caution: the salts are made for MTL kits with coils in the 0.8 to 1.2 ohm sort of range. Put 20mg salt in a sub-ohm tank and you will regret it within one puff.

Hayati has eight blue razz pods on the Pro Max Plus alone, and they are not the same flavour with different labels. Blue Razz Lemonade is the balanced one and the one we rank first overall. Blue Razz Cherry darkens it with cherry and drops most of the fizz. Blue Razz GB (gummy bear) is the sweetest of the lot, thick and confectionery. Blue Razz Blackcurrant leans British: it tastes like a blackcurrant squash with a blue twist. Blue Razz Pineapple is sharper and more tropical, Blue Razz Mojito adds mint and lime, and Blue Sour Raspberry is the sherbet-sour outlier that predates all of them.

Then the oddities. Mad Blue and Blue Frozen are both cold, hard blue-raspberry hits with heavy ice; Blue Frozen is the colder of the two and, on a mesh coil, borderline numbing. Pick one blue razz to start, and make it the Lemonade. Move sideways only once you know how sweet you like it.

If you want cold without fruit, the Pro Max Plus gives you three: Fresh Mint (soft, our pick), Spearmint (sweeter, chewing-gum mint) and Double Menthol (the sharp one, which lives up to the name and then some). On the Pro Ultra Plus 25000 Fresh Mint is the only pure mint pairing, which tells you something about how the twin-tank crowd buys.

Fruit-and-ice is where most of the range lives. Watermelon Ice is the benchmark, Pineapple Ice and Banana Ice are the next best (Banana Ice is far more convincing than banana vapes usually are, which is not a high bar but it clears it comfortably), and Red Apple Ice tastes like a cold Pink Lady. Blackberry Ice and Cola Ice are decent but neither made our ten. Strawberry Raspberry Ice is worth knowing because it exists on all three lines, so you can move between the pods, the Ultra Plus and the salts without changing flavour.

A rule of thumb for the ice pods: the word "Frozen" means heavier cooling than "Ice". Blue Frozen is not a gentle introduction.

Berries are Hayati's strongest suit and the reason four of our top ten are berry-led. Beyond Mr Blue and Strawberry Raspberry Blueberry, the ones to know are Blueberry Raspberry (the plain version of Mr Blue, less sugar, more fruit), Cherry Berry (a dark mixed-berry with a cherry top note that people either adore or find medicinal), and the cranberry trio: Blueberry Cherry Cranberry, Strawberry Cherry Cranberry and Blueberry Raspberry Cherry. The cranberry ones are tart in a way most vape flavours are not, and they suit anyone who finds the range too sweet overall.

Grape Berry and Sakura Grape are the grape options. Grape Berry is a straightforward purple-sweet grape and berry. Sakura Grape is floral, a cherry-blossom perfume over the grape, and it is the most divisive pod on the list: the people who like it reorder it every time, and everyone else describes it as tasting like a hand cream. White Peach Raspberry is the elegant one, delicate and under-sweetened, and it deserves more attention than it gets.

Triple Mango leads the tropical pods, with Lemon Pineapple close behind (sharper, less sweet, a good summer pod). Caribb Crush is a tropical punch, Pipeline Punch is an orange-led tropical, and Summer Dream is the mixed-fruit that we like more as a nic salt than as a pod. Strawberry Kiwi sits between berry and tropical and is a solid, safe second pick if Strawberry Raspberry Blueberry is out of stock. Strawberry Watermelon is the same idea with watermelon instead of kiwi, and it is the only strawberry pod that exists on all three lines.

On citrus, Lemon Lime is the clean one (number seven in our ten), Pink Lemonade is the sweeter, pinker version of the same idea, and Blackberry Lemonade and Blackcurrant Lemonade are the two dark-fruit lemonades. Of those two, Blackcurrant Lemonade is the better pod: it tastes like a specific British soft drink you already know, and it is the most quietly British flavour in the range.

Cherry Cola is the pick here and the only sweet-shop flavour in our ten. Cola Lime is drier and more like the drink with a wedge in it. Fizzy Cherry is a fizzy cherry sweet, sugary but not cloying, and Rocky Candy Orange is orange sherbet dialled up until it squeaks. The gummy-bear pods (Blue Razz GB, Grape GB, Strawberry GB) are as sweet as the name suggests. The bubblegum ones (H'Bubba, Strawberry H'Bubba, Blueberry B'Gum) are sweeter still, and that is where we start to lose people.

Ice Pop is a blue-raspberry-and-cherry lolly and Fruit Twist is a fruit-salad sweet. Both are fine. Neither is a pod we would put in someone's first five.

Every flavour guide we could find lists ten winners and no losers, which is how you end up with a page that helps nobody. We sell all 62 flavours and would like to keep selling them, so this is not a hatchet job. It is five pods we would steer a first-time buyer away from, and why.

Blueberry B'Gum. Blueberry bubblegum, and the sweetest pod in the range by some distance. By the end of a 2ml pod most people have had enough of it for a month. Double Apple. This is a shisha-style red and green apple with an aniseed hint, and it is loyal to that tradition; if you did not grow up with shisha apple, it tastes like nothing else you have vaped and not in a good way. Black Mamba. The label says nothing, the pod is a dark mixed berry with heavy ice and a sweet-liquorice note, and we get more "what is this" emails about it than any other flavour. Rocky Candy Orange. Sherbet orange that is enjoyable for exactly three puffs. Sakura Grape. See above; the most divisive pod we stock. Try it as a nic salt only if you already like floral flavours, and otherwise leave it alone.

None of these are faulty or badly made. They are simply the ones that end up in the drawer. If you know you like very sweet or very unusual flavours, ignore this section entirely; if you are picking a first five and want to minimise regret, skip them.

The Pro Max Plus pods, the Pro Ultra Plus pairings and the nic salts each have their own flavour list, and the overlap is smaller than you would guess. Blue Razz Lemonade, our number one, does not exist as a Pro Ultra Plus pairing at all. Tobacco exists only as a salt. The table below covers the flavours people ask about most; a tick means the flavour is available on that line (on the Pro Ultra Plus that may be inside a pairing rather than on its own).

Pods come in sealed fives, so a flavour you turn out to dislike costs you £23.99 and four pods in a drawer. The cheaper audition is the nic salt. Ten bottles for £17.99 works out at £1.80 a bottle, against £4.80 a pod, and 34 of the 49 salt flavours share a name with a Pro Max Plus pod. Pick a box of ten across the flavours you are curious about, run them through a refillable, then order the five pods of whichever one you kept reaching for.

Two caveats, because this is not a perfect test. A salt in your own kit will not taste identical to the same flavour on Hayati's mesh coil: the pods are generally a touch sweeter and cooler than the bottles. And it only works if you own a refillable MTL kit; if you do not, buy the five pods of Blue Razz Lemonade and skip the science.

When not to buy at all: if you are choosing between the Pro Max Plus and the Pro Ultra Plus purely on flavour, do not. Choose on how you vape. The Pro Ultra Plus makes sense if you genuinely want two flavours in one device and will use both tanks; if you know you will live on one flavour, the Pro Max Plus does the same job with a cheaper refill.
