Hayati Smooth Tobacco: the first tobacco pod on the Pro Max Plus, and how it compares with the nic salt

Mechanically it is any other Pro Max Plus refill: a sealed 2ml prefilled pod with its own mesh coil, clipped to a 10ml cartridge that tops the pod up as you vape, 12ml of 20mg nicotine salt in total, rated at 6,000 puffs, and it fits the Pro Max Plus 6000 kit and nothing else. It reached UK shelves in the second wave of Hayati's 2026 additions, in mid July, alongside T-Misu and Peach Green Tea, the other two flavours in that wave that are not fruit.

"Smooth tobacco" is an established phrase in e-liquid, and it means something specific: not a cigarette imitation, and not the dry, ashy sort of tobacco that some brands attempt. It is the mild end of the category, usually a light, slightly sweet, faintly nutty blend closer to a pipe tobacco than a rolling one, with the harshness engineered out. The manufacturer's own words for this one are mellow, balanced and satisfying, which fits. We have not sold enough of it to add our own adjectives yet, and we would rather leave a gap than fill it with a guess.

People who prefer a tobacco flavour, which is a bigger group than the Hayati range has ever admitted. Look at the sixty-two flavours on the 6K before this summer and every single one was fruit, mint, fizz or sweets; the range was built for people who came to it from fruity disposables, and it never pretended otherwise. Anyone who wanted the Pro Max Plus hardware (the auto-refill cartridge, the 850mAh battery, the £4.80 refill) but did not want to vape something that tastes like a bag of sweets had no option. Now they have one.

It is also, for the fruit crowd, the obvious evening pod. Plenty of people who vape Blue Razz Lemonade all day do not want it after dinner, and a low-sweetness, no-ice flavour is what T-Misu and Smooth Tobacco both offer in different directions. Buy a second kit for it, since the 6K holds one flavour at a time; a kit is £3.00 more than a refill, which is cheap for the privilege of not tasting bubblegum at ten at night.

They are two products for two kinds of owner, not two versions of one thing. The pod is for the Pro Max Plus; the salt is for a refillable MTL kit you already own, and it will not go in a Hayati prefilled kit at all. The salt comes in 10mg as well as 20mg, so it is the only way to get a lower-strength Hayati tobacco. It is also much cheaper per millilitre, because you are buying liquid rather than liquid plus a coil plus a cartridge. On taste, the salt is a dry, slightly nutty blend, the sort that reads as tobacco rather than caramel; the pod is described by its maker as mellow and rounded, which suggests something softer. We will know how far apart they are once the pods have been through a few hundred hands.

If the point is a pod that does not taste of fruit, there are two now, and they landed in the same week. T-Misu is tiramisu: coffee and cream, no fruit, no ice, the first dessert flavour on any Hayati pod. Where Smooth Tobacco is the low-sweetness option, T-Misu is the sweet one that is sweet in a pudding way rather than a sweet-shop way. They are the two we would put in a second kit for the evening, and between them they cover the after-dinner question from both ends. Two tobaccos, two products, no overlap. The Pro Ultra Plus 25000 still has none, in a pairing or on its own, and given that its 2026 additions were all fruit, mint and sweets, we would not expect one soon. The Pro Max Plus 6000 kit is not yet sold with Smooth Tobacco pre-fitted; like the rest of the summer drop it arrived as a refill, so the route is any 6K kit plus a Smooth Tobacco refill.
